Heather. How she had annoyed Astrid, how she had caused so much trouble. And yet.. Hiccup couldn't get her off his mind. Ever since that day she had washed up on shore, she had had him by the heart strings. Bidding her farewell had to be one of the hardest things he had ever done. Since then his relationship with Astrid hadn't been quite the same. Hiccup started picturing Heather where ever he went. It didn't help that time Astrid had dressed like Heather. Now all Hiccup could think of when he saw her was Heathers face.

Yet it had been a long time since Hiccup had seen Heather. Pangs of emotion were hitting him one day, when a dragon flew overhead, dropping a note to the ground. Chasing after it curiously, he came to the spot where it had landed. A smell of flowers lingered on the parcel, he inhaled a moment and knew exactly who it was from. Carefully, with shaking fingers, he opened the parcel and read it.

"Dearest Hiccup,

It's been too long since we have seen each other. I miss you. So I decided I would do something about it. Tonight I will be sailing out to see you. Meet me at sunset in the caves.

Heather <3 "

He folded up the letter with a giddy smile on his face. That evening he couldn't sit still. Astrid tried stopping over, but he shooed her away before the sun had started to set. Then he set off towards the caves.

When he arrived, Heather was there. Ah Heather... Still just as beautiful as ever. She approached him slowly, wordlessly, and their lips met. He found his arms around her, his eyes closing. He wished this moment could last forever. If only... but he knew she would have to leave for her island soon. As she pulled away, he watched her run out of the cave and climb for the boat. Hiccup wondered why she was leaving so soon, then he heard her.

"Hiccup! Where are you?" Came her voice. Astrid. Looking back to where the boat was, he saw it was just a speck on the horizon. Sighing, he looked back to where Astrid searched for him and went running towards her, "Hey.. Here I am." Embracing her with conflicting emotions, he knew he was in too deep. Not seeming to notice, Astrid knocked him on the shoulder. "There you are. Come on, I made some yak nog. We can still make the most of this evening, after all." She said with a smirk. Taking one last look back, he went to follow her.

Astrid followed his gaze, perplexed. "Whats wrong, Hiccup?" Hiccup looked at her, and kissed her on the cheek. "Nothing."
